year! Did you know you can spread the flu even
before you feel sick? This year, protect
yourself, your family, friends and coworkers from the flu.
The
Visiting Nurse Association offers flu immunization clinics for everyone 6
months and older at public locations throughout
Johnson
County. Our clinics are located at schools, shopping malls, recreation centers
and churches. If you would like to

We
also offer a corporate program for
local businesses who want to offer flu clinics on site for their
employees. Businesses can be impacted by
the flu as employees take days off to recuperate or care for family members who
are ill. The VNA offers customized
clinics to meet the needs of each business. If you would like information or would like

You
should not receive the flu vaccine if you
- Have an allergy to
eggs, egg products , Epinephrine, latex, or Thimerosal
- Have had a previous
severe reaction to the flu or pneumonia shot
- Have an active
neurological disorder or history of Guillain-Barre Syndrome
*FluMist isavailable to healthy persons aged 2-49. FluMist is not
approved for pregnant women and those age 4 and under with asthma or recurrent
wheezing.
*If you have a fever of 100 F
or higher, delay immunization until you are recovered.
The
cash/check price for the flu vaccine is $24 ($27 if billed to insurance). FluMist cash/check price is $30 ($33 if
billed to insurance). The cash/check
price for the Pneumonia vaccine is $67 ($70 if billed to insurance).
- Medicare Part B,
Medicare Replacement and other insurance policies are accepted. Bring your Medicare or insurance card
with you to the clinic.
As
a not-for-profit organization, proceeds from our clinics support home nursing
visits to the ill, injured and disabled in our community. When you get your flu vaccine from the VNA,
you and your family are protected from the flu and you’re helping keep your
friends and neighbors healthy.
